Next Saturday, September 3, the 2022 season kicks off for a pair of teams when the Colorado State Rams vs Michigan Wolverines meet for just the second time in their U.S. college football history.
Colorado State begins a new era trying to forget the nightmare experienced last year when they finished with a 3-9 record. While Michigan will try to start their defense of the Big Ten title playing at home against an opponent that should be relatively easy.
Predictions and Betting Preview for the Colorado State Rams vs Michigan Wolverins College Football Game on September 3 2022
- Where: Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
- When: Saturday, September 3, 2022, 12:00 PM E.T.
Betting on the Colorado State Rams
- Regular Season Record: 0-0.
- Spread: +30.5.
- Moneyline: +1700.
- Over/Under: 61.5.
The Rams will have a new head coach for this season with the hiring of Jay Norvell, who arrives from the University of Nevada to try to lead Colorado State to a positive year in the Mountain West.
Along with Norvell came 12 new starters in the transfer window, something that could help the Rams improve dramatically from last year, but they will likely need a couple of games to line up.
Especially the offense with the presence of Clay Millen, rookie quarterback, who will be pulling the strings of the offense. While the defense, one of the nation’s best in 2021 in tackles for loss of yardage, should be the college brand until everything clicks into gear.
Betting on the Michigan Wolverines
- Regular Season Record: 0-0.
- Spread: -30.5.
- Moneyline: -8000.
- Over/Under: 61.5.
The reigning Big Ten champions will have a tough test this season in their mission to reach the national semifinals again without several of their key players, including defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, taken with the second overall pick in the NFL Draft by the Lions.
To do so, they must rely on their powerful offense led by quarterback Cade McNamara, who has at his disposal one of the best receiver corps in the nation, as well as Blake Corum, who last season rushed for more than 1,000 yards on the ground.
Defensively, despite the losses, the Wolverines seem to have the material to recover from that situation. In addition, the arrival of other names keeps Michigan as a favorite to win the conference again, although they will take some time to settle in.
JefeBet Prediction
Michigan’s spread seems somewhat high, but Las Vegas knows Colorado State will have to adjust quickly to Norvell’s new system with a host of names that have never played together and a freshman quarterback.
For their part, Michigan will be playing at home and maintain one of the best offenses in the nation. Something extremely important when we see that the Rams’ defense is the one that has the most new pieces and will have to make the most adjustments.
Winning by more than four touchdowns in the first week seems a bit tricky, although what does not seem difficult is to see a good amount of points on the board.
Pick: Over.
