Betting on the Detroit Lions

Lions vs Cowboys Predictions Picks Betting Odds
  • Regular Season record: 1-4
  • BetMGM Spread: +7.0
  • Moneyline: (+220).
  • Over/Under: 49.

Being one of the top attacks in the league means nothing if the Lions can’t defend or respond to good defenses like the Patriots.

That is why this Sunday, when they face the Cowboys, they will have to prove that their beginning of the season was not a mere coincidence. The Lions’ offense has performed well in all aspects, one of them being the improvement of Jared Goff at quarterback. This has helped them rank second in average yards gained per play with 6.2, second in yards per carry with 5.4 and eighth in air yards with 6.7.

However, the defense has been a complete disaster. They have not allowed less than 27 points to their opponents in any game, and despite having played one fewer game than the other clubs, they have conceded the most points in the league (170). Additionally, they allow the most yards per play with 6.5. Along with the Titans, they concede the most net yards per pass with 7.4 and are third in yards allowed per carry with 5.5.

Betting on the Dallas Cowboys

Lions vs Cowboys Predictions Picks Betting Odds
  • Season record: 4-2.
  • BetMGM Spread: -7.0
  • Moneyline: (-278)
  • Over/Under: 49.

The Cowboys lost their chance to move into a tie for first place in the NFC East with the Eagles after losing last weekend on Sunday Night Football.

Dallas was unable to implement their style of play at any time and went into halftime trailing 3-20, something new for them as they hadn’t allowed 20 points to an opponent in any game this season. In the second half, the defense settled down, conceding only six goals, but the damage had already been done against a team that has the third lowest number of points conceded.

The main issue against the Eagles, and one that has been a source of concern since Dak Prescott’s injury, was the performance of the offense led by Cooper Rush. The QB had his worst outing since taking over the job by throwing three interceptions, with two of them ending in points for Philadelphia.

Prescott’s return is closer than ever, having been cleared to return to action with the team on Wednesday; however, it’s not yet known if he will be leading the Dallas offense in Sunday’s game.

JefeBet Prediction

Despite the Lions’ defense being a real mess, the Cowboys’ offense hasn’t scored more than 25 points this season and Cooper Rush has now gone two consecutive games without reaching 200 air yards. The only thing that could change everything is if Dak Prescott finally gets in uniform on Sunday.

Detroit wasn’t able to face the Patriots’ good defense and against Dallas, which is better than New England, they might have to play without Amon-Ra St. Brown and D’Andre Swift. There’s a reason only one Cowboys game this season exceeded 40 points, and that was last week against the Eagles.

Prediction: Under (DET 20 – DAL 23).
