Virginia began the college basketball season as a dominant team and remained so throughout its eight-game undefeated run. Their first loss was to Houston by a score of 69-61, and the second came in the following game by a score of 66-64 to Miami.
With the two losses in a row everything seemed to collapse, but they managed to see the light again by beating Albany in their last game with a score of 66-46. They have nine wins and two losses in 11 games and are in third place in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Georgia Tech is not considered a good team at the moment. They have had a lot of trouble finding consistency and after 12 games played they have only been able to get seven wins, the third least amount of wins in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The Yellow Jackets lost 79-66 in their most recent game against Clemson, their second loss in their last five games. While they are not on a winning streak, they are struggling to win, having won only three straight games in the season opener, against Clayton State, Georgia State and Northern Illinois.
