Hirving Lozano, Most Fouled Player in European Soccer

Hirving Lozano will be out of action for the entire month of February after he was injured in the World Cup qualifying match between Mexico and Panama on February 3.

Due to the injury, the Napoli striker will miss the Europa League round of 16 clash against Barcelona and is not expected to return until March 6, so in addition to missing the games against Venezia and Inter, he will also miss the Serie A games against Cagliari and Lazio.

The former Pachuca player’s most recent injury was diagnosed as a dislocated shoulder, and he must follow specific instructions to recover. He will not be able to train with the team and must wear an immobilized arm to prevent any movement that could halt his recovery; the only thing he will be able to do is the exercise routine prescribed to him in the gym.

The website in charge of registering soccer databases, BeSoccer, revealed that Hirving Lozano is one of the players who receives more fouls. Moreover, he is one of the players of the five most important leagues that receives more hits from 2016 to date.

Where does Hirving Lozano rank in the list of the most fouled?

The renowned Chucky is the sixth player with the most fouls received with a total of 720. The Top 3 is made up of elite players such as Brazil’s Neymar, who received 1040 in that period, 320 more than Lozano; Argentina’s Lionel Messi with 839, and the third is Italy’s Andrea Belotti with 747.

Lozano is a player known for his speed and his ability to get out of the way of opponents, as well as his good mid and long distance shots, which is why he is considered one of the most unbalancing elements of the Mexican National Teambut he has been constantly forced to leave the field with the “Tri” due to injury.

The most serious injury, without a doubt, was the one he suffered in the Gold Cup match against Trinidad and Tobago last summer, when he clashed his head with the opposing goalkeeper’s knee. He was carried off on a stretcher and taken to the hospital after a very spectacular crash. Later, it was determined that there was no cervical spine issue, and he merely required stitches for the facial incision he had sustained.
