Betting on the Baylor Bears

  • Regular Season Record: 20-6

Baylor picked up its fourth straight win on Monday following a 79-67 humbling of the West Virginia Mountaineers at home. Before that, the Bears thumped the TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday in Fort Worth, 72-68. The Bears are now 9-4 in the Big 12 and carry the longest active win streak in the Big 12

Baylor’s offense has gotten even scarier of late.It is already among the highest-scoring teams in the nation before starting its current undefeated run, but it appears that Baylor has become more dangerous with the ball. On the season, the Bears are No. 1 in the nation with 122.0 points per 100 possessions adjusted and 23rd in Division I basketball with an average of 78.8 points per game.

When they beat Kansas 75-79 at home last January, LJ Cryer scored 22 points with five 3-pointers. Guess what. Cryer just nailed eight of Baylor’s 14 triples in the win over West Virginia. Baylor is 7-2-1 ATS in its last 10 games.

Betting on the Kansas Jayhawks

  • Regular Season Record: 21-5

Kansas is back on top of the Big 12 again, as they now share with the Texas Longhorns and the Bears the conference-best 9-4 record. That three-way tie atop the league’s standings is what makes Saturday’s game versus the Bears even more important. It’s a good thing for Kansas that it at least has some momentum, having won all its last three outings.

In their last game, the Jayhawks ripped apart the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Stillwater on Tuesday, 87-76. Before that, the Jayhawks torched the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman last Saturday, 78-55. And the last time they were in Lawrence, the Jayhawks whipped the Longhorns on Feb. 6, 88-80.

The Jayhawks are 12-1 SU in true home games so far this season, and they will rely on the likes of Jalen Wilson and Gradey Dick to get the job done on Saturday. The two combined for 47 points and seven 3-pointers in the first meeting with Baylor. Kansas is 5-5 ATS in its last 10 home games.

JefeBet Prediction

Both teams have looked fantastic of late. That said, I’m going with Kansas here. The Bears will get hot again from the field, but their defense will not be sturdy enough to handle Jalen Wilson and co.

Prediction: Kansas covers the spread.
