Betting on the Oklahoma Sooners

  • Regular Season Record: 13-13

Oklahoma finally ended its four-game losing streak by stunning the Kansas State Wildcats at home on Tuesday via a score of 69-65. Grant Sherfield stepped up for the Sooners, as he led the way for Oklahoma with 22 points, while Tanner Groves put up 16 points.

Oklahoma’s outside shooting was also on point versus Kansas State, with the Sooners going 11/23 from behind the arc. Outside shooting isn’t really a strength of Oklahoma this season but it could still be feeling it when it faces the Longhorns again. In the first meeting with Texas, the Sooners shot 9/25 from long range to help them cover the spread in a 70-69 home loss back in December. Carr also had 22 points in that game while Jacob Groves put up 17 points with five 3-pointers on nine attempts.

The Over is 6-3-1 in the last 10 road games of Oklahoma, which is also holding opponents to around just 47 eFG% this season.

Betting on the Texas Longhorns

  • Regular Season Record: 20-6

Texas has some bitter taste in the mouth to wash off following a 74-67 upset loss to the Texas Tech Red Raiders last Monday. The Longhorns struggled on offense versus Texas Tech as they shot just 39 FG%, but they still went 11/27 from behind the arc to save their eFG%.

Texas is also getting hot of late from deep, and it could be ready to fight fire with fire from long distance when it meets the Sooners again – this time in Austin. The Longhorns have drained a total of 21 3-pointers on 44 attempts over their last two games.

Marcus Carr had 23 points and was 5/9 from the 3-point area against Texas Tech, and you could expect him to dominate the touches again this Saturday. After all, he is Texas’ leading scorer, though, there are also the likes of Sir’Jabari Rice and Tim Allen to help carry the load on offense. The Longhorns’ ability to draw a ton of fouls and get to the line a lot is also expected to help them this Saturday.

Texas is 3-0 ATS in its last three games.

JefeBet Prediction

We expect the Longhorns to shoot better this time versus Oklahoma, which has the potential to fall victim to a fall sense of security after upsetting Kansas State.

Prediction: Texas wins by at least 9 points.
