Betting on the Texas Longhorns
- Regular Season Record: 22-7
The Longhorns are coming off an 81-72 loss in Waco last Saturday to the Baylor Bears which prevented Texas from gaining even more momentum ahead of its final game away from Austin in the regular season. Nevertheless, the Longhorns are still confident they can get the job done this coming Wednesday. For one, they defeated TCU back in January at home, 79-75.
Timmy Allen and Dylan Disu scored 17 and 14 points, respectively, to lead the Longhorns in thwarting the Horned Frogs, who were also forced to commit 14 turnovers. Both Allen and Disu balled out again in the Baylor game, so they could still be hot when they hit and share the floor with TCU.
Allen scored 12 points to go with nine rebounds and three assists versus Baylor, while Disu went off for 24 points on 10/15 shooting from the floor. Texas, which is top 30 in the nation in both adjusted offensive and defensive efficiencies, is 5-5 ATS in its last 10 games away from home.
Betting on the TCU Horned Frogs
- Regular Season Record: 19-10
The Horned Frogs are back to their winning ways. After suffering a 63-58 home loss to the Kansas Jayhawks on Feb. 20, TCU rebounded with a thrilling 83-82 win in Lubbock last Saturday against the Texas Tech Red Raiders. With that win, TCU is now back to .500 in conference play, as they carry an 8-8 Big 12 record into its rematch versus the Longhorns.
A key this season for TCU is its defense which is allowing only 67.6 points per game. It is also great at taking away much from the prowess of the opposing teams’ outside shooting, as evidenced by the fact that the Horned Frogs are 29th nationally with teams shooting just 30.7 from deep against them. The Horned Frogs are 6-3-1 ATS in its last 10 games as the home team.
JefeBet Prediction
TCU plays more comfortably at home and provides a tighter defense that greatly limits Texas’ outside sniping.
Prediction: TCU covers.
