After first-round exits in each of the previous two editions of the NCAA tournament, the Huskies are now just a win away from getting back to the national championship game. Dan Hurley’s team flexed its muscles in the Elite Eight in their merciless 82-54 crushing of the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Gonzaga owns the best offense in the nation this season, but that was no match versus UConn, which held the Bulldogs to only 33.3 percent shooting from the field and a 2/20 clip from deep.
That’s basically a blueprint to success in the Final Four against a high-scoring Miami squad for the Huskies, who are 11th in the nation with just 91.9 points allowed per 100 possessions adjusted. Offensively, the Huskies are not too shabby either, with guys like Jordan Hawkins and Adam Sanogo ready to face Miami’s leaky defense.
