Betting on the Brooklyn Nets
- Regular Season Record: 45-37
Perhaps the Nets wouldn’t have made it to the top six in the Eastern Conference if Kevin Durant didn’t play at all for them this season. That being said, Brooklyn showed quite an improvement toward the end of the regular season, with the new faces on the team getting more experience in the new environment.
Take for example Mikal Bridges, who is having so much success, from an individual standpoint, with a bigger role in Brooklyn. Since getting traded to the Nets, Bridges has averaged 26.1 points per game. Before he was sent to the Nets, Bridges was putting up 17.2 PPG with the Suns this season. Cam Thomas might also be still piping hot after going off for 46 points in the regular-season finale of the Nets, albeit in a 134-105 home loss to the Sixers.
Betting on the Philadelphia 76ers
- Regular Season Record: 54-28
There’s little to doubt about why the Sixers are the favorite to win not only Game 1 of this series versus the Nets but the entire series as well. For one, Philly has superstars. The Nets don’t even have one anymore, with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving no longer in Brooklyn. The Sixers are being led by MVP candidate Joel Embiid.
The Sixers big man finished the regular season with monster averages of 33.1 points on 54.8 percent shooting from the field, 10.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game. The Nets’ frontline simply doesn’t have the talent and depth to neutralize Embiid, who also averaged 31.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in two games played versus Brooklyn back in the regular season. Another advantage for the Sixers over Brooklyn is their defensive capabilities.
The Sixers enter the NBA Playoffs third in the league with 110.9 points allowed per contest.
JefeBet Prediction
The Sixers flash their might and wallop the Nets in a double-digit victory. Embiid comes away with a 20+/10+ double-double.
Prediction: Sixers win, 120-108.
