The Knicks made the most out of their two home games at Madison Square Garden as they won Games 3 and 4 to grab a 3-1 series lead over the Cavs. In Game 4, the Knicks got a big boost from the Villanova Wildcats duo of Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. Brunson scored 29 points on 11/22 shooting, while Hart chipped in 19 points.
Hart had a tremendous impact on the game. He can be considered the biggest x-factor in this series for New York, which is also suffocating Cleveland’s attack. In fact, the Knicks have the best defensive rating so far in the playoffs, with just 101.3 points allowed per 100 possessions. They are also winning the battle on the glass with a 52.8 percent rebounding rate to just 47.2 percent by Cleveland.

Donovan Mitchell is adamant that he and the Cavs are far from being demoralized by their current situation. “We’re not that type of group. Like I said, we’ll be ready for Game 5,” Mitchell said to reporters following a salty 5/18 shooting from the field for just 11 points in Game 4.
Playing at home will definitely be a major plus for the Cavs in Game 5, as they expect to shoot much better than they did in the two games at Madison Square Garden. Darius Garland, however, has some momentum going into Wednesday, as he paced the Cavs with 23 points on 9/16 shooting last Sunday. Back in the Cavs’ 107-90 win in Game 2, Garland exploded for 32 points. Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley also have to flex their muscles, especially on the glass and in protecting the paint. They only had a combined 11 rebounds in Game 4, though, the duo also totaled 26 points.
