Betting on the Los Angeles Lakers
- Regular Season Record: 43-39
The Lakers scored a big upset in the first round, as they took down No. 2 seed Memphis Grizzlies in only six games. They concluded that matchup by mercilessly pounding the Grizzlies in a 125-85 victory in Game 6 last Friday. The ageless LeBron James led the Lakers in the first round with 22.2 points on 48.6 percent shooting from the field while also averaging 11.2 reb pounds and 5.2 assists. Anthony Davis also had plenty of success in the first round, and he’s probably going to be the biggest thorn in the side of Golden State.
Even though he was matched up against reigning Defensive Player of the Year winner Jaren Jackson Jr. in the first round, AD still put up 20.8 points on 49 FG%, 13.7 rebounds, and 4.3 blocks per outing. The Lakers have also won three of four meetings with the Warriors back in the regular season.
Betting on the Golden State Warriors
- Regular Season Record: 44-38
The Warriors were circling down the drain through two games in the first round, as they lost the first two contests versus the Sacramento Kings. But the defending champions dug deep and found a way to overcome the deficit and win the series outright in seven games. Stephen Curry showed he’s still THAT guy when he dropped a 50-point nugget in Game 7 of that series.
Kevon Looney also turned heads in that game with 21 rebounds. The big man could be the top X-factor for the Warriors in the second round, as his mammoth rebounding played a huge role in the success of Golden State in the Kings series. (He had three games of at least 20 rebounds in that matchup.) He is going to be a top weapon for the Warriors on the glass versus a Lakers team that is currently leading the playoffs with 49.7 rebounds per game.
JefeBet Prediction
Anthony Davis flexes his muscle and dominates this game while getting ample help from the Lakers’ deep supporting cast. Taking the Lakers to win Game 1.
Prediction: The Lakers win, 114-111.
