Betting on the Denver Nuggets

So far, the Nuggets are not just winning their series against Phoenix; they are dominating Kevin Durant and company. After beating the Suns in the series opener, 127-107, the Nuggets crushed Phoenix anew in Game 2 last Monday, 97-87.
Jamal Murray shot just 3/15 from the field in Game 1, but it did not matter much, as Nikola Jokic carried Denver on his back. The Serbian superstar torched the Suns for 39 points on 17/30 shooting from the floor, while also grabbing 16 rebounds and adding five assists. No one was able to slow down Jokic, and that could be the case for the rest of the series. So far in the second round, Jokic is averaging 31.5 points on 51.0 field goal percentage. Defensively, the Nuggets are not doing too shabby either in the series, as evidenced by the fact that the Suns just shot 40 percent from the field in Game 2 and just 45.3 percent in the second round, thus far.

Where do the Suns go from here? Not many expected them to be in this kind of hole after two games in the second round, but here they are headed home for essentially a must-win contest. No team in the NBA has ever won a series in the playoffs after losing the first three games. It’s also possible that the Suns will not have the Point God in Game 3.
Chris Paul left the court in the third quarter of Game 2 and did not return due to a groin issue. If CP3 can’t give it a go on Friday, there will be more on the plate of Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, who are averaging 31.0 and 26.5 points in the series so far, respectively. It’s not over yet for Phoenix. With or without Paul, the Suns can still turn things around, especially if Deandre Ayton provides a bigger challenge for Jokic on both ends of the floor.
