Betting on the Golden State Warriors

The Warriors avoided what would have been a far more dangerous scenario of a 2-0 series deficit by taking down Los Angeles at home in Game 2 on Thursday, 127-100. That was a powerful response by the Warriors to their series-opening loss to Los Angeles, to say the least. Golden State relied on the playmaking of Stephen Curry and on the hot hands of Klay Thompson to get the victory.
Curry scored 20 points and dished out 12 assists, while Thompson exploded for 30 points on the strength of an incredible 8/11 shooting from the 3-point region. It appears that the Warriors have found the right formula in the series, using Curry to create shots for the others. Take for example JaMychal Green, who went off for 15 points on just nine attempts and in only 13 minutes. The Warriors got their moxie back, and it sounds like trouble for the Lakers. Golden State is 7-3 against the spread in its last 10 games against a team that had just scored at least 100 points in a prior contest.

What happened to Anthony Davis? After feasting on both ends of the floor in the series opener, Davis had a sharp decline in Game 2, scoring just 11 points with seven rebounds and four assists. He swatted away three shots, but it was clear he was not himself. LeBron James was left to carry most of the burden among the starters, as he finished with a team-high of 23 points to go with seven rebounds and three assists.
If anything, the Lakers got 21 points off the bench from Rio Hachimura. The Lakers simply fizzled in Game 2. They can certainly play better than that, so a game at home could help get them going again. Los Angeles is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games in La La Land and they have also beaten the spread in each of their last four games that came after a loss. So far in the playoffs, the Lakers are averaging 111.3 points on 45.9 percent shooting from the field.
