Mage (3/1)
What’s there to be said about Mage? This horse won the 2023 Kentucky Derby, so there’s absolutely no way it’s not attracting a ton of attention heading to the 2023 edition of the Preakness Stakes. That victory at Churchill Downs was actually Mage’s first in a graded stakes event. However, it placed second in last April’s Florida Derby.
First Mission (5/1)
First Mission is sort of a mystery for the more casual bettor. After all, it was not part of the field at the 2023 Kentucky Derby. That being said, First Mission has won its last two races, including the grade 3 Lexington last April. This colt is lightly raced, having participated in only three events so far, so it definitely has plenty of gas in its tank.
Disarm (12/1)
Disarm is still looking for its first win in a graded stakes event, but it did impress a bit when it finished fourth at the 2023 Kentucky Derby. That was a pretty solid finish that earned it the respect of bettors and horseracing fans alike. Before that, Disarm placed third at Lexington and second at the grade 2 Louisiana Derby.
Sleepers
National Treasure (18/1)
After winning its maiden special weight race back in September, National Treasure has appeared in four graded stakes races. Over that four-race span, though, it failed to register a win. However, National Treasure has shown three times, including a runner-up finish at the grade 1 2022 American Pharoah and a third-place at the grade 3 Sham.
Instant Coffee (20/1)
Instant Coffee disappointed many when it managed just a sixth-place finish at the grade 2 2023 Louisiana Derby last March, as it had already grabbed the attention of many before that race by stitching together back-to-back wins at the grade 2 2022 Kentucky Jockey Club and grade 3 2023 Lecomte.
Dark Horse
Chase The Chaos (33/1)
Chase The Chaos has struggled in its last two starts. After a seventh-place performance at the grade 2 2023 San Felipe last March, it took a step back and placed just eighth at the 2023 Califonia Derby. However, Chase The Chaos won at the 2023 el Camnbino Real Derby last February.
Jefebet Prediction
Riding the one with the hot hooves here. Mage will top the field at Pimlico Race Course.
