With their starting rotation banged up, the Dodgers will be sending 24-year-old Bobby Miller to the mound for his big-league debut Tuesday night versus the Braves. In four starts in the minors this year, Miller pitched for 14.1 innings and collected a 5.65 ERA and 1.186 WHIP.
Those numbers are not much to write home about, but the former first-round pick can still surprise the Braves. In any case, the Dodgers will look to provide Miller with ample run support just like they did in the opener of this series in which they beat Atlanta, 8-6. JD Martinez’s bat might still be smoking by Game 2 of the series after he went 4-for-5 with a home run in Monday’s win against the Braves. Freddie Freeman, meanwhile, has hit .411with four home runs and 17 RBI in his last 14 games.
Starting pitcher: Bobby Miller (0-0, 0.00 ERA)

Unlike the Dodgers, the Braves are parading a proven starter later tonight in the form of Spencer Strider. The 24-year-old Strider has been pretty solid this year. While he is coming off a rocky start in which he allowed four earned runs on six hits in 5.0 innings of work against the Texas Rangers on the road last Wednesday, he is still sporting a sub-3.00 ERA and a sparkling 1.01 WHIP.
Tonight’s meeting with Los Angeles also opens an opportunity for him to keep his undefeated streak alive when pitching at home. So far this 2023 MLB regular season, the Braves are 4-0 in Strider’s starts at Truist Park. For what it’s worth, the Braves have also won seven of their last 10 games that came after a loss. Ronald Acuna and Orlando Arcia are among the top candidates to make loud noises at the plate tonight, as they habe hit .354 and .310 over the last 15 days, respectively, while combining for seven home runs and 12 RBI.
Starting pitcher: Spencer Strider (4-1, 2.96 ERA)
JefeBet Prediction
Coming off a shaky start, Spencer Strider comes up with a sterling performance in Game 2 of this series. The Braves also give Miller a rude welcome with a barrage of hits early.
Prediction: The Braves win, 7-3.
