Azaitar is on a mission to get back to his winning ways after suffering a loss in his last fight at the hands of Matt Frevola via knockout. That’s Azaitar’s first loss of his career in the pros, so he’s definitely so eager to taste that winning feeling again because outside of that fight, it’s all that his done in MMA. Prior to his loss to Frevola, Azaitar has won 13 fights in a row to start his professional career.
He is a knockout machine with 10 such wins in his ledger, but he’s already shown in the past that he can make things happen with his grappling, as evidenced by his back-to-back victories against Serge Dali and Christopher Hector via Guillotine and rear-naked choke, respectively, in 2015. Azaitar is averaging 6.97 significant strikes landed per minute in the UFC to just 1.87 by Prado. Moreover, he has not been taken down in three fights thus far in the UFC.

Prado is still a newbie in the UFC, as this fight against Azaitar will just be his second in the MMA organization. But when it comes to winning, he’s definitely not a stranger. He even has championship experience, having reigned supreme in his divison during his time in the Samurai Fight House. He won the belt with a knockout win over Diego Basualdo in February 2022 and then proceeded to defend it three times in a row — all before the end of 2022.
However, Prado lost in his UFC debut via unanimous decision against Jamie Mullarkey last February. Nevertheless, he could be better this time around, now that he knows what it feels like to fight in the UFC. Prado appears to be a more well-rounded fighter than Azaitar as he has five wins via knockouts and six via submissions. He’s also not been knocked out or submitted before, which tells a lot about his quality defense.
