Betting on the Los Angeles Dodgers (-115)
The Dodgers are coming off a 2-1 loss to the New York Mets on Sunday, 2-1. However, that was just Los Angeles’ first loss in seven games, so the Dodgers must still be feeling pretty good about themselves heading into this series opener versus Baltimore.
Starting for the Dodgers this Monday will be Emmet Sheehan, who is looking to score his first pitching win since June. In his most recent start, Sheehan allowed five earned runs on four hits with four walks and four strikeouts in just 3.2 innings of work in a 9-7 home loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 4. That he was not charged with a loss in that game was also a testament to the Dodgers’ offense. Speaking of which, Mookie Betts has hit .400 with five home runs and nine RBIs in his last 10 games.

Betting on the Baltimore Orioles (-105)
The Orioles are scorching hot. They just wiped out the Miami Marlins in a three-game series that ended with a 5-4 Baltimore win on Sunday, thus extending the Orioles’ win streak to eight games, dating back to the first half of the season. They will be putting their win streak on the line this Monday with Grayson Rodriguez on the mound.
Rodriguez is far from a dependable starter (yet) for the Orioles, but with the way Baltimore is hitting the ball and scoring runs, he might get enough runs to keep his nerves steady versus the Dodgers. In his last appearance, Rodriguez surrendered eight earned runs on six hits with three walks and six strikeouts in a 12-2 home loss to the Texas Rangers on May 26. He has allowed eight earned runs in two of his last three outings. Baltimore, however, has hit .276 with a 5.19 slugging percentage in its last three games and is seventh in the big leagues so far this month with a .796 OPS.
