Preseason record: 1-1
The Chargers could not follow up on their success in Week 1 when they defeated the Los Angeles Rams, 34-17. In Week 2, they fell prey to the New Orleans Saints at home, 22-17. Easton Stick passed for 233 yards but had zero interceptions, got intercepted twice, and was sacked five times for a loss of 44 yards.
It was a salty passing performance from Stick but it was a different story when he used his legs to move the chains, as he rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries. That should be enough to keep his confidence up heading into Week 3 of the preseason against the Niners, who got lit up for 165 rushing yards by the Denver Broncos in Week 2.

Betting on the San Francisco 49ers (-7.5)

Brock Purdy is back. The 49ers quarterback saw action for the first time since he went under the knife to repair an upper-body injury in the offseason, as he went 4/5 for 65 passing yards in last week’s 21-20 home win over the Broncos.
Purdy, however, can be expected to sit out the preseason finale. Trey Lance and Sam Darnold can handle the task under center, with the two having an up-and-down performance in the Broncos game, combining for two passing touchdowns and a pair of interceptions. “I feel like every time I step on the field, I learn so much, I get so much better from every rep,” Lance told reporters after the Denver game (via AP). “Just seeing as many pictures as I can and continue to get as many reps as I can with these guys.”
The 49ers are 5-5 against the spread in their last 10 preseason games.
