Betting on the USC Trojans (-17.5)
Regular season record: 4-0
The Trojans remain undefeated this season after beating the Arizona State Sun Devils on the road last over the weekend, 42-28. South California did not have a smooth ride in Tucson, but at the end of the day, the Trojans got what they wanted and are now 2-0 in conference play this year.
Caleb Williams sparkled anew for USC, passing for three touchdowns and zero interceptions on 20/31 completions, while running back Marshawn Lloyd had 154 rushing yards on 14 carries. The Trojans, who are 5-5 against the spread in their last 10 games overall, dating back to 2022, were slowed down by penalties in the meeting with Arizona State. However, that kind of issue can still be fixed heading into the grand showdown against Colorado. USC has not lost ever to the Buffaloes. The Trojans are 13-0 straight up and 8-5 against the spread all-time versus Colorado.

Betting on the Colorado Buffaloes (+17.5)
Regular season record: 3-1
The Buffaloes got absolutely humbled last Saturday, as they suffered a 42-6 demolition at the hands of the Oregon Ducks in Eugene. That was Colorado’s first loss of the season and first overall since Deion Sanders took over as head coach of the program. Oregon crushed the Buffaloes so much that it’s hard to imagine whether two-way star Travis Hunter would have changed the script in favor of Colorado if he played.
Hunter, who is nursing a liver injury, will not still be available in Week 5, leaving the Buffaloes without one of their best weapons on both ends of the field. Still, there is enough talent in Colorado to rattle the Trojans, notwithstanding the embarrassing loss to the Ducks. Take note that the Trojans were widely expected to dominate a banged-up Arizona State side but did not even manage to cover the spread. The Buffaloes are 5-5 against the spread in their last 10 games as the home team.
El Jefe’s Prediction on USC Trojans vs Colorado Buffaloes
You can say that the Buffaloes got exposed big time by the Ducks, but to some extent, the same can be said about USC’s underwhelming win against the Sun Devils. Still expect USC to win the matchup versus Colorado.
Prediction:
USC wins, 38-20.
