Betting on the Georgia Bulldogs (-13)
Regular season record: 4-0
Georgia was not able to cover the spread in last Saturday’s meeting with the UAB Blazers in Athens, but they still are undefeated this season after a 49-21 victory in that contest. Carson Beck threw for 337 yards and three touchdowns and avoided an interception. Tight end Brock Bowers helped his NFL stock in 2024 by coming away with two touchdown catches to go with 120 receiving yards on nine receptions and nine targets versus the Blazers.
It was not an entirely smooth ride for Georgia in that game in part because of turnovers, but that’s also probably because the Bulldogs took their foot off the pedal a bit, considering the quality of the opponent. Regardless of their miscues in Week 4, the Bulldogs are a formidable team on both ends of the field. They are also entering Week 5 with a 9-1 straight up and 9-1 against the spread records in their last 10 games opposite Auburn.

Betting on the Auburn Tigers (+13)
Regular season record: 3-1
Auburn took a stumble in Week 4, as the Tigers suffered a 27-10 loss in College Station to the Texas A&M Aggies. The Tigers; offense was putrid versus the Aggies, as they generated just 200 total yards from scrimmage. Payton Thorned threw for only 44 passing yards on 6/12 completions.
The ineptness of Auburn’s offense to make things happen on the field against the Aggies was especially worrying because that display of offensive futility happened just a week before a showdown against the reigning national champions. That being said, Auburn will be playing in a much friendlier environment in Week 5, as the Tigers go back home. The Tigers are 4-0 straight up in their last four games as the home team, covering the spread three times over the same stretch.
El Jefe’s Prediction on Georgia Bulldogs vs Auburn Tigers
Auburn’s offensive line was a major culprit in the Tigers’ loss to the Aggies. After allowing seven sacks to Texas A&M, it might not get any better for Auburn’s pass protection unit, with the monster defense of Georgia coming to town. Taking Georgia to win in Week 5.
Prediction:
Georgia wins, 40-23.
