Much has already been said about the debacle of the Giants this season. They looked even worse last Monday when they got destroyed by Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks at home in a 24-3 loss. Daniel Jones was simply atrocious in that contest, as he passed for 203 yards (0 touchdowns, 2 interceptions) while going 27/34.
He was also sacked 11. Even the Seahawks must have been surprised at how easily they were able to invade the Giants’ pocket. Things could get easier for New York though if running back Saquon Barkley finally makes his return to action. Barkley has missed games due to an ankle problem. Considering how desperate the Giants are becoming, he might get forced to play in Week 5.
Betting on the Miami Dolphins (-11)
Regular season record: 3-1
After torching the Denver Broncos with a 70-point explosion, the Miami Dolphins suffered their first loss of the season in Week 5 at the hands of the Buffalo Bills on the road. 48-20. The Bills are playing at a different level.
The Giants are not remotely close to the quality of Buffalo, so normal scoring production can be expected of the Dolphins in Week 5. On the season, the Dolphins are still the top-scoring team in the league with 37.5 points per game. Excluding the absurd game against the Broncos, the Dolphins are still averaging 26.6 points. On defense, the Dolphins can look forward to a strong performance by their pass rushers versus the Giants’ faulty pass protection that is being repeatedly exposed this season.
