Sergio Perez is about to start his second season at Red Bull, and, after being last season’s fourth best pilot, compliments keep coming and coming.

On this occasion, it was Red Bull Racing Team Principal, Christian Horner, the one to compliment the Mexican driver and stated that he is “just what they need.”

In one chapter of “Drive to Survive” on Netflix, Horner refers to the Mexican driver and to his experience as a Formula 1 driver and to his recent work with the team. He highlights Checo’s experience and explains that the Mexican never gives up. Horner believes that Checo is just what Red Bull Racing needed. He also states that Checo is finally finding his level, and that he is a really tough driver.

Besides, Horner states that Sergio’s presence in Red Bull is key due to his great skills when it comes to working as a team.

As for the great duo formed by Sergio Pérez with Max Verstappen, the Red Bull boss affirms that they are the best on the grid.

The Mexican had an outstanding performance in his first season with the Austrian team where he managed to get five podiums. Although the team was not enough to win the Constructors’ championship, the points that Pérez added were important to secure the second position of the team in the season, and his work was key for his partner to finish as world champion.

Sergio Pérez appears in the Netflix series where he talks about what 2021 is it like and what it is expected from him. Checo explaines that he was never in a team capable of achieving a podium, and that competing against Mercedes is tremendous. Besides, he states that Horner expects him to make the most of the car’s full potential.

On Sunday, March 20th, the first race of the 2022 Formula 1 season will be held at the Bahrain Grand Prix. So, the new challenge for the Mexican driver begins.

Good things are predicted for him and the Red Bull team since during the last day of the preseason, held in Bahrain, the Austrian team dominated the tests on the last day. “Checo” Pérez had a great performance in the morning session, in which he was the fastest driver. He covered 43 laps and clocked 1:33.105.

However, while in the final classification he finished in seventh position, his partner, Verstappen, the current Formula 1 champion, finished in first place in the final classification with 1:31.720 on the clock.
