Opening the final day of Elite 8 at the NCAA, the University of Miami will face one of the powerhouses of college basketball, the University of Kansas. On the part of the Hurricanes, getting completely burned with their offense to the iowa state program thanks to a score of 70-56 without much complication. On the other side, the Jayhawks suffered a little more than the bill against a much better prepared opponent like the University of Providence, but they never gave up their advantage and got the win with a score of 66-61. Who will advance to the Final Four of March Madness?

Picks and Predictions for the Miami Hurricanes vs Kansas Jayhawks NCAA Basketball Championship Elite Eight Game on March 27

  • Where: United Center – Chicago, Illinois
  • When: Sunday, March 27, 2:20 PM ET
  • Betting Line: Miami Hurricanes (+6.5) vs Kansas Jayhawks (-6.5)

Miami Hurricanes Betting Preview

  • Overall Record: 26-10
  • Conference Record: 14-6
  • Spread: +6.5
  • Over/Under: Over 148
  • Moneyline: +225

It’s been an impressive trajectory for the Hurricantes so far, and in this last game against Iowa State they showed that they are not just a simple explosive offense, limiting their opponent to 56 points in total. However, you have to put your feet on the ground because the Miami challenger in the Elite 8 is nothing more and nothing less than the only number one seed left, and of course, right now he is the favorite to win the national title.

There’s not much else the ACC conference team can do, it’s the first time they’ve come this far in the competition and go against the worst matchup possible, as the University of Kansas defense is at an all-time high right now, while offensively they haven’t stopped staying consistent enough not to lose any advantage.

Kameron McGusty will have to have a performance like the one he had against the Cyclones, with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals to give his team the best chance of winning. The contributions of Isaiah Wong and Jordan Miller will also have a great impact.

Kansas Jayhawks Betting Preview

  • Overall Record: 31-6
  • Conference Record: 14-4
  • Spread: –6.5
  • Over/Under: Under 148
  • Moneyline: -280

Providence University was a very tough opponent for the Jayhawks but they still fulfilled their task and are already in Elite 8, as the only remaining number one. The pressure is obviously there, but we don’t think it’s going to be a problem for one of the most talented programs in the whole country. Once again the squad’s defence shines brighter than their offensive efforts, and as long as that continues to secure their victories as they have been doing, there is nothing to worry about.

Remy Martin again came to the rescue from the bench, this time getting 23 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in 27 minutes. Their resurgence is the most important part of the team’s offense, especially when Ochai Agbaji and David McCormack weren’t at their best during the night. This should not be repeated from now on, especially with an offensive as dangerous as that of the Hurricanes. As much as your defense can win you games, if you don’t score points sooner or later they will do them to you.

Kansas’ hierarchy has already been imposed since the first round, and while Miami has been a revelation and has all the energy to be able to materialize the upset, I would be very surprised if the Jayhawks are defeated being so close to their goal.

I’m very sorry for the Hurricanes, it’s been a great tournament but I think this is the end for them: Kansas simply has all the tools at their disposal not only to eliminate them from the tournament but to reach the March Madness National Final, even more so than the rest of their opponents. Beware if Miami takes a considerable lead at the start of the game, it is not in the jayhawks’ interest at all to give facilities to what has been probably the most destructive offense in the entire NCAA.
