Atlanta Braves star outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. revealed that he did not have a good relationship with Freddie Freeman during the time they shared a team between 2018 and 2021.

“I’m not going to miss Freddie Freeman. We had friction. He didn’t care when I was beaten. Freddie was authoritarian and not someone I could ever talk to,” said the Venezuelan during an interview with Dominican journalist Yancen Pujols.

However, after his statement about his former teammate went viral, Acuña took to Twitter to deny some of the things that hinted that there was definitely no chemistry between him and the American, who is currently one of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ top stars in the 2022’s MLB campaign.

After learning of the 24-year-old’s viewpoint, it’s evident that this difficult situation influenced Atlanta management’s decision to let Freeman go in free agency.

In the following days, the first baseman will surely be questioned about what happened with Acuña Jr. in Atlanta. In addition, it will be extremely interesting to see the tension on the field when the Dodgers and Braves meet April 18 and 20.

Since his arrival to the Majors in the 2018 campaign, Acuña Jr. has shown that he is talented enough to establish himself as one of baseball’s new superstars.

In his career with the Atlanta Braves, the young player has a .281 average and a .376 OBP, with 105 home runs and 78 runs batted in.

It is important to remember that the Venezuelan has just missed most of the 2021 season due to a serious knee injury. A situation that logically casts doubt on his performance as a Braves star in 2022.
