The UFC usually grabs the attention of mixed martial arts fans because of the attractive lineups it offers. Entertainment is guaranteed since it allows spectators to experience a great deal of excitement, but in some cases, the most anticipated fights are the ones that are short-lived: and when I say short-lived, I mean really short-lived.

Although fighters look for a victory every time they step into the cage, these don’t always come after a brilliant performance as the opponent provides an easy ride and cuts the excitement short.

Here are the 5 fastest knockouts in the history of the UFC. UFC.

1.- Jorge Masvidal – UFC 239

July 6, 2019 is remembered by UFC fans as the day the fastest knockout in history took place. In 5 seconds, Jorge Masvidal defeated his opponent Ben Askren almost as if he had use chloroform. The Cuban-American started too hard and with his knee managed to send Askren to the canvas.

2.- Duane Ludwig, UFC Fight night 3

Duane Ludwig is among the UFC fighters who have emerged victorious with faster knockouts, but unfortunately due to a timer error it could not be made official as a UFC record. At UFC Fight Night 3 on Jan. 16, 2006, Ludwig got the job done in six seconds against Jonathan Goulet, but the timer clocked it at 11.

3.- Todd Duffee – UFC 102

On August 29, 2009, American Todd Duffee went down in the mixed martial arts history books after scoring the fastest knockout in history—of course, someone else would later beat him, but he did it first.

His heavyweight fight against Tim Hague lasted seven seconds, and although for many it was a disappointment because they expected to see more in the cage, others were amazed because not everyone destroys the opponent in less than 10 seconds.

4.- The Korean Zombie – UFC 140

Chan Sung Jung, better known in the sports world as The Korean Zombie, starred in a fight at the 140th edition of the Ultimate Fighting Championship against Canadian Mark Hominick on December 10, 2010. The two were expected to have a tense and long fight, but it was quite the opposite. It was, as they say colloquially, a piece of cake for The Korean Zombie, who in 7 seconds had already won after making use of the strength of his right arm.

5.- Ryan Jimmo – UFC 149

Ryan Jimmo made his first appearance at the 149th edition of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and what he did left everyone open-mouthed. His bout was against Australian Anthony Perosh on July 21, 2012. The Canadian fighter only needed 7 seconds to get rid of his opponent, because with a strong right hand he sent him to the ground and won by knockout.
