Since its founding in 1920, the NFL has had many negative performances that can be attributed to the worst teams in history. However, some organizations seem to want to have a monopoly on disastrous payrolls and the Cleveland Browns, who have never made it to a Super Bowl, are one of them. For that reason, here at Jefebet.com we bring you a list of the five worst teams in the history of the American soccer league. And yes, you guessed it. All are Browns teams.
5.- 2015 Cleveland Browns
With a 3-13 record, the 2015 Browns began a dynasty of dismal results that ranks the organization among the worst teams in the NFL. That season, they finished last in the AFC North and their point differential was -154. A real calamity.
4.- 2000 Cleveland Browns
The 2000 season was another one to forget in Cleveland. The Browns finished last in the AFC North with a 3-13 record and scored just 161 points, a figure that left them as the seventh-worst team in history in average points scored per game in a campaign by averaging 10.1. An example of this is that on four occasions they did not score points that season, and in no game did they score more than 25 points.
3.- 1999 Cleveland Browns
If the 2000 Browns were bad, the previous year’s Browns were no slouch. Although they were able to score more points in 1999, they were only able to win two games and lost 14. None of his running backs reached at least 500 yards, and no receiver topped 1,000 through the air. Likewise, they did not know what it was like to score 30 points in a game, while their rivals did so on six occasions.
2.- 2016 Cleveland Browns
Remember when we told you that in 2015 the Browns had begun a dynasty of horror? Well, here’s why. After barely winning three games that year, in 2016 the Cleveland team did absolutely nothing to improve and only had one victory, which they achieved in the penultimate round with a 20-17 win over the Chargers. While this offense worked much better, the defense was a disaster. In the campaign they allowed 452 points and in 13 of 16 games the opponents scored at least 25 points.
1.- 2017 Cleveland Browns
If they thought doing worse than the 2015 and 2016 campaigns was impossible, the Browns outdid themselves and did it. In 2017, the last of the horror trilogy prior to Baker Mayfield‘s arrival, the Cleveland organization became the fourth in history to fail to record a single win in an NFL season by finishing with an 0-16 record. While six games ended with a difference of seven points or fewer, the Browns lost to six teams that finished the year with negative records.
