Cleveland Rangers first baseman Josh Naylor recorded one of the most spectacular offensive performances in recent MLB history.

Naylor showed power with the bat and a cool head to lead an impressive comeback in the ninth inning against the Chicago White Sox. And, then, his team ended up taking the victory in the eleventh inning, with a score of 12 runs to 9.

The Canadian’s first big hit of the night came in the top of the ninth with the White Sox up 8-4. A superb grand slam to center field, which evened the score against the delivery of stellar closer Liam Hendricks.

What a hit!

And there was still more to come from the 25-year-old, as two episodes later he disappeared the ball again, this time all over right field at Guaranteed Rate Field, to collaborate with the three runs that helped the Cleveland team put the game to a close.

With this performance, Naylor becomes the first player in MLB history to connect two 2-run (or more) home runs and drive in a total of 8 after the eighth inning of a game.

Thanks to this dramatic win against their fierce rivals, the Guardians begin Tuesday, May 10, in second place in the American League Central Division, with a record of 15 wins and 14 losses.

Josh Naylor’s Numbers for the 2022 MLB Season

Josh Naylor is the Guardians' first baseman in 2022.

After logging three seasons of inconsistent action, it appears that Josh Naylor is finally finding stability in the 2022 version of the Cleveland Rangers.

This season, the 25-year-old left-handed hitter has a .338 average and .370 OBP, with 4 home runs and 21 runs batted in.

We are talking about a player who, at least in the first month of the season, was the perfect complement to the franchise’s top player, José Ramírez, who is once again putting up numbers worthy of an American League MVP candidate.
