The free agency market looks to be quite busy for Ndamukong Suh, as several organizations have shown interest in the experienced player.
According to Tyler Dragon of USA Today, the defensive tackle has been having conversations with the Las Vegas Raiders and Minnesota Vikings ahead of the upcoming NFL season.
Ndamukong Suh, 35, played the last three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, an organization that did not offer him a new contract after securing the services of Akiem Hicks.
Suh racked up 27 tackles and six catches last season to finish with 112 tackles and 14.5 catches in 49 regular-season games with Tampa Bay. The five-time Pro Bowler was also an important part of the Bucs’ prestigious defense that won the Super Bowl in the 2020 campaign.
Las Vegas Is Leading Candidate to Keep Ndamukong Suh
While the Vikings intend to make a strong bid for Ndamukong Suh, it appears the Raiders have a step-up as the defensive back is eager to play for them.
Raiders could be fun. Chandler Jones and Maxx Crosby, I was exchanging messages with them the other day. It’s an interesting opportunity for sure. We’ll see where it kind of ends up.
Ndamukong Suh to Sports Illustrated’s Zack Koons
The Raiders have one of the best passing duos in the NFL in Crosby and Jones, whom they signed this offseason. However, the interior defensive line remains a major concern, so the hiring of the experienced defensive lineman would be helpful.
Suh has 12 seasons of experience in U.S. professional soccer and in his rookie year, 2010, he was selected as the circuit’s Defensive Rookie of the Year. On three occasions he has been selected to the All-Pro team, and in at least 10 seasons he has 4.5 catches from the opposing quarterback.
