Sam Hauser Returns to the Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics secured some bench depth by signing Sam Hauser to a three-year contract worth about $6 million, although the final year of that contract is not guaranteed.
Hauser played a total of 26 regular season games with the Celtics last season, and while his averages were not spectacular, playing an average of just 6.1 minutes per game, his ability to make three-pointers could serve the team well after connecting on 43.2% of his 1.7 three-pointers per game average.
Goran Dragić to Join Chicago Bulls
Goran Dragić, who spent time with the Toronto Raptors, San Antonio Spurs and Brooklyn Nets last season, has a new team for next season after reports indicated that the Chicago Bulls are close to signing him to strengthen their bench, Jordan Schultz revealed on the Pull Up Podcast.
The contract will be for one year and will see the player bring in $2.9 million, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Frank Ntilikina Stays with Mavericks
Frank Ntilikina will stay with the Dallas Mavericks after the team plans to retain him and pay him the $2 million remaining on his contract, according to NBA reporter Marc Stein.
Ntilikina is not exactly an offensive weapon to be reckoned with off the bench, averaging 4.1 points and 1.4 rebounds last season, playing an average of 11.8 minutes and 58 total games, but his defensive duties are more than valued by any NBA team, so the Mavericks have a good man on the bench to put in to close out the even games of their upcoming campaign.
Suns Re-Sign Bismack Biyombo
Bismack Biyombo will remain in the desert for another season after appearing in 36 regular-season games last season with the Phoenix Suns, with the 29-year-old averaging 5.8 points per game and 4.6 rebounds in 14.1 minutes played.
Biyombo could provide relief at the center position while the franchise waits to clarify Deandre Ayton’s future.
