Latinos are becoming increasingly recognized in the world of film and entertainment. So, in light of the upcoming launch of the Star Wars series, Andor, we present a list of Latin American actors in Star Wars. Read all about it below.

Star Wars is a saga of films and series created by George Lucas. It’s an epic space saga that began with A New Hope in 1977. After the original trilogy, another trilogy of prequels was released. The plot revolves around Anakin Skywalker, later Darth Vader, who has a fateful and redeeming destiny to restore balance to the force.

In 2015, the first film of the sequels was released. Rogue One was released in 2016 in the midst of the sequel releases. This story follows Cassian Andor and Jyn Erso on their successful mission to get the Death Star plans that Leia would receive in A New Hope. Now, in August, a new Disney Star Wars series will premiere, and it will be about Cassian Andor. For this reason, we bring you this special piece about Latino actors in Star Wars.

Diego Luna

To begin with, Diego Luna is a 42-year-old Mexican actor, director, producer and screenwriter with an extensive career in Mexican television and film. He is also friends with Gael Garca Bernal, with whom he co-owns Canana Films, which has produced movies about femicides in Ciudad Juárez.

Regarding Star Wars, he appeared in Rogue One and now in the Andor series, which fleshes out his character’s past before the events of the 2016 film.

Pedro Pascal

In second place we have Pedro Pascal, a Chilean actor who is the star of The Mandalorian. Finally, Guatemalan actor Oscar Isaac starred in Star Wars as Poe Dameron, a Resistance pilot who helps a pair of force-sensitive friends defeat the New Order, a reborn empire. Additionally, among his most recognized roles is also one of the MCU’s most recent series, Moon Knight.
