Sleeper Picks

Bianca Andreescu (+5000 on DraftKings)

2023 Wimbledon Women’s Singles Sleepers

Andreescu is still searching for her second Grand Slam title. She won her first way back in 2019 at the US Open. Since then, she hasn’t gone deeper than the Round of 16 in any major tournament. At Roland Garros earlier this month, Andreescu got eliminated in the Round of 32 by Lesia Tsurenko in straight sets (1-6, 1-6). With all that being said, Andreescu still carries plenty of promise and potential. Remember, she is just 23 years old. At her current price to win the 2023 Wimbledon women’s singles tournament, Andreescu provides great value, especially for someone who’s already won a major before.

Anastasia Potapova (+8000 on DraftKings)

2023 Wimbledon Women’s Singles Sleepers

Potapova has yet to win a Grand Slam title thus far in her career, but she is constantly getting better. She ranked just 247th when she turned pro in 2017 then rose to 94th by the end of 2018. Potapova finished 2019 and 2020 93rd and 100th, respectively, but she’s gradually moved up since. She was 69th at the end of 2021 and 43rd in 2022. Now, the 22-year-old Russian is No. 21 in the world. She is definitely making progress and if she keeps it up, a Grand Slam win should be on the horizon for her. In three Wimbledon appearances, Potapova has never gone past the Round of 64.

Madison Keys (+8000 on DraftKings)

2023 Wimbledon Women’s Singles Sleepers

Ranked 24th in the world, Keys remains hopeful that she will finally win a Grand Slam title sooner than later. She has had plenty of close calls to a victory in a major tournament. Just last year, she reached the semifinals of the 2022 Australian Open.At Wimbledon, the furthest she’s reached was a quarterfinals appearance in 2016, with  Agnieszka Radwanska ousting her from the tournament in that round. Moreover, Keys has experience playing in a Grand Slam finals, as she reached the grand stage of the 2017 US Open (lost to Sloane Stephens in two sets).

El Jefe’s Prediction on 2023 Wimbledon Women’s Sleepers

Anastasia Potapova surprises and makes run deeper than what most people expect of her. Madison Keys and Andreescu also both reach the third round at least.
