Melendi

Ramón Melendi Espina, born in January 21, 1979, artistically known as Melendi, is a Spanish singer-songwriter and composer of pop and rumba music.

As a young boy, he was attracted to soccer, and the sport led him through a short soccer career. He debuted in various juvenile categories in his hometown team, Real Oviedo. He abandoned soccer at the beginning of 2001, the same year that he decided to take his first steps as a musician. He formed a band with his friends called “El bosque de Sherwood”.

His single with the most views so far is “Destino o casualidad”, a 2017 collaboration with the American duo Ha*Ash. The video was recorded in New York, United States, and the song achieved the platinum album in Mexico and Spain. It also got the gold disc in the United States. During his musical career, Melendi has released eleven studio albums: “Sin noticias de Holanda” (2003), “Que el cielo espere sentao” (2005), “Mientras no cueste trabajo” (2006), “Curiosa la cara de tu padre” (2008), “Volvamos a empezar “(2010), “Lágrimas desordenadas” (2012), “Un alumno más” (2014), “Quítate las gafas” (2016), “Ahora” (2018), “10:20:40” (2019) and “Likes y cicatrices” (2021).
