The rosters for the 2022 All-Star Game have been set, and inevitably, there have been some MLB All-Star Game snubs.

We’re talking about players who, based on their performance, deserve to play in the mid-season game but were not chosen due to a lack of roster space, due to the presence of players with higher performance, or just because of unfairness.

In this edition, we bring you some of the most striking absent names in the American League for the game on July 19, as some last-minute withdrawals could open up a place for them.

Ty France (1B) – Seattle Mariners

MLB All-Star Snubs

Surely, the biggest MLB All-Star Snub of all this season. The Seattle Mariners first baseman went from being a position finalist to being left out of the All-Star Game altogether.

Despite missing a couple of weeks due to injury, his overall numbers are better than those of position starter Vladimir Guerrero Jr. This season, Ty France is the leader in OPS (.851) and batting average (.310) among the junior circuit’s starters, in addition to 10 home runs and 45 RBIs.

Kevin Gausman (SP) – Toronto Blue Jays

MLB All-Star Snubs

It’s weird to see a legitimate Cy Young candidate passed over for an All-Star Game, which is why Gausman is one of our MLB All-Star Snubs.

The Toronto Blue Jays ace is the leader in fWAR in the Major Leagues with 3.7 and is averaging just 0.2 HR/9. After 88 innings, his ERA is 2.86, and he already has 100 strikeouts.

Dylan Cease (SP) – Chicago White Sox

MLB All-Star Snubs

Dylan Cease has been one of the pleasant surprises of this season, and the fact that he was not initially considered for the All-Star Game despite his numbers leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

This season, the White Sox starter ranks second in the American League in strikeout percentage (34.3%) and first in K/9 (13.0), while his 2.45 ERA ranks fourth in the junior circuit.

Michael King (RP) – New York Yankees

MLB All-Star Snubs

Because there isn’t much room for relievers on All-Star teams, Michael King not only had the misfortune of his opponents pitching well, but teammate Clay Holmes also made the roster.

King has been a workhorse for the Yankees, often playing more than one inning, which is why he has 46 innings and one-third of work in 20 outings. In that time, he has a 2.33 ERA and is tied with Holmes for the lead in fWAR among relievers with 1.5.
