The Golden State Warriors became NBA champions on Thursday by defeating the Boston Celtics in the sixth game of the 2022 NBA Finals with a 103-90 scoreboard and thus winning the final series 4-2.
Like the rest of the games, Game 6 at the TD Garden was marked by important moments and spectacular plays, something that we will relive below as a tribute to the fourth championship in the last eight seasons of Steve Kerr’s Warriors.
Game 6, won by Golden State from the first half
Trying to dominate from the start with their fans rooting for them, the Celtics entered the match packed and eager to extend the 2022 NBA Finals to Game 7.
However, the Warriors’ momentum didn’t fade as they aimed to put an end to the tough contest with Boston on Thursday, quickly launching an incredible comeback.
However, this was not the Warriors’ only streak. Between the end of the first quarter and the beginning of the second, the Golden State team sealed the match with a historic 21-0 run.
And although Boston was not giving up, things in the first half did not look very favorable for the home side.
Following the break, the Celtics went into the third period attempting to counteract the Warriors’ onslaught, which had them up by 22 points at one point.
But Stephen Curry, as always, had other plans in mind with a historic feat for the final stages of the championship.
With the game down to 10 points in the fourth period, both teams’ defensive play shone through, including these highlights from Andrew Wiggins and Robert Williams.
Finally, the Warriors maintained a significant lead on the scoreboard, and with only a few minutes remaining, Curry knew he’d have to prepare his hand for a fourth championship ring.
The Celebration and the Delivery of the Award to the MVP Arrived
The Warriors were ecstatic almost instantly, as now they have established themselves as an NBA dynasty.
All of this came from the so-called “Splash Brothers.”
And of course, also from Stephen Curry, who got the last big trophy that was missing in his prestigious career by taking the MVP of the 2022 NBA Finals against the Celtics.
Last but not least, a recognition to Juan Toscano-Anderson, who, representing Latin blood, became the first Mexican to win a championship ring in the NBA.
Congratulations, Warriors! Goodnight!
