Week 11 of the MLS will be played between Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15. The battle is becoming increasingly severe as teams begin to display their strengths and shortcomings, with some vying for first place and others attempting to climb out of the bottom of the standings.
The show is guaranteed in this MLS Week 11, as it has been the case since the season kicked off, we recommend you not to miss any of these four matches as they are the ones that promise the most excitement.
1.- Philadelphia Union vs New York Red Bulls
Philadelphia Union have been weak in their last five MLS matches, as they have just one win in that span and come into this Week 11 MLS matchup on a four-game winless streak. Despite their inconsistency, they lead the Eastern Conference with 19 points and in this match they will fight to defend that position against the New York Red Bulls.
The New York squad is only one point behind Philadelphia and looks a little better than its rival, so it has the opportunity to overtake it in the standings. This match will be played on Saturday, May 14 at 4:30 p.m. (Pacific time) at Subaru Park.
2.- Colorado Rapids vs LAFC
The Colorado Rapids have had a bad start to the season, with only three victories in ten games, and they recently lost 1-0 to the San Jose Earthquakes in a match in which they were the favorites. Now, the situation is different as they will face the Western Conference leader, LAFC, who, despite a 2-2 draw in their previous match against Philadelphia Union, are undefeated in four matches.
In this Week 11 of the MLS, even with the draw, Los Angeles FC could still maintain their position in the standings. This match will be played on Saturday, May 14 at 12:30 p.m. (Pacific time) at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
3.- Chicago Fire vs Cincinnati
The Chicago Fire are unable to break out of their funk and enter Week 11 of the MLS season with a six-game winless skid and three consecutive defeats. This series of bad results has them in the last position of the Eastern Conference, and only a win could help them to leave that position. However, the outlook looks complicated as they will face a rival from the same zone, Cincinnati, who is having a better performance and arrives to this match with three consecutive victories.
This match will be played on Saturday, May 14 at 5:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) at Soldier Field.
4.- Atlanta United vs New England Revolution
Atlanta United enters Week 11 of the MLS season with an important 4-1 win over Chicago Fire in the previous match day. Consequently, they ended their bad streak and are now among the teams in the first half of the Eastern Conference table. Their opponent to beat in this match will be the New England Revolution, who are in the same conference, but have been inconsistent and have lost half of their games so far this season.
This match will be played on Sunday, May 15 at 10:30 a.m. (Pacific time) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
