In the second of two articles on this topic, JefeBet brings you a short but detailed analysis of the six teams of the NFL, of the 12 that have not yet won a Super Bowl, that are one step closer to winning the long-awaited U.S. soccer championship.
In the following list, we will go from least to greatest, with number one being the team closest to a current NFL title. Don’t miss it!
6.- Cleveland Browns
The Browns could be higher on our list of NFL teams closer to their first Super Bowl, but first, they must answer many questions within their roster. The most important one? What will happen with Deshaun Watson this season?
The quarterback came over from the Texans a couple of months ago and even though he already won some lawsuits against him, allegations continue to surface against him and the NFL will most likely give him a few games of suspension. Add to that a receiver corps without much depth and a secondary with a lot of talent but in need of consistency.
5.- Tennessee Titans
The Titans were the number one team in the AFC last season and failed to make it to the Super Bowl. With their ceiling seemingly already reached, Tennessee will surely be a contender this year, but it looks very difficult for them to overcome the great teams that will be in the American Conference this year.
Ryan Tannehill has always been a competitive quarterback, but not strong in the postseason. This season he will not have A.J. Brown by his side, so what Derrick Henry can do on the ground will be super important for this offense. In the defense? There is not much to say, it is one of the best in the circuit.
4.- Arizona Cardinals
On paper, the Cardinals are one of the teams to beat in the NFC, so their presence in the Super Bowl would not be crazy. Kyler Murray already has a few seasons of experience in the circuit and will have Marquise Brown by his side alongside DeAndre Hopkins when he returns from his six-game suspension this year.
Arizona proved last season that it is a compact team in all areas and that despite the slump suffered at the end of the regular round, head coach Kliff Kingsbury has plenty of material to work within a successful team.
3.- Cincinnati Bengals
Last season’s Super Bowl finalists have plenty of reasons to keep their fans with the hope that they can capture the first championship in the organization’s history. Having Joe Burrow at the helm of the team is reason enough and if we think that the 2021 core remains intact, things are looking very good.
Besides, in Cincinnati they did what they had to do. Reinforcing an offensive line that was one of the worst in history last year and thus providing protection to a quarterback who promises much joy in the near future.
2.- Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers are one of the favorites for the upcoming campaign after an incredible preseason and hopes are high that they can get their first Super Bowl. With the help of their young quarterback, Justin Herbert, Los Angeles hopes to at least make it to the postseason again. They have not arrived at this instance since 2018.
With the attack being assured, the Chargers have strengthened their defense by bringing in Khalil Mack, as well as Sebastian Joseph-Day and one of the best cornerbacks in the circuit in J.C. Jackson.
1.- Buffalo Bills
Bills fans have many, many reasons to be hopeful that after four Super Bowls lost, the fifth will be the lucky one. And of course, those hopes rest on Josh Allen, considered one of the best five quarterbacks in the circuit, who will have a great group of receivers at his side with Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis and newcomer Jamison Crowder.
But if that wasn’t enough, Buffalo bolstered its defense with the signing of Von Miller, one of the best linebackers in history and who is coming off a Super Bowl win with the Rams. The experience Miller can bring to the table, coupled with a talented all-around team, makes the Bills one of the teams to beat this season.
