At just four years old, Deuce Tatum is shaping up to be the youngest MVP in an NBA Conference Final if the Boston Celtics can get past the tough stumbling block of the Miami Heat.
Just like you read it. The young son of Jayson Tatum, the Celtics’ star on the court, appears to have become something of a lucky charm for the team, who are seeking to win a championship ring for the first time since 2007-08.
Deuce Tatum was already well-known for his appearances with the star player, but since Boston’s post-game news conference against the Milwaukee Bucks, the little guy has captured the hearts of even the most fervent Celtics critics.
And while he didn’t show up after the Heat thrashed Boston in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Deuce did accompany his father to the dressing room on Thursday, after the Celtics tied the series at one win apiece.
There, he was met by the entire team, including Jaylen Brown, the other team figure, who must have felt proud to have exchanged so many words with the number zero.
And why do we say that he should feel honored? Just look at what happened to Grant Williams. I believe his relationship with Deuce Tatum is definitely strained. He will certainly have to work to fix the problem, as this is not the time to antagonize the team’s star player.
Meanwhile, Deuce will have to rapidly recover from his trip to Miami, where he no doubt appreciated the pool that his father reminded him of so much once he got past the Milwaukee obstacle.
Deuce Tatum and the Celtics return to Boston
The Boston Celtics did their job by winning at least one game at the FTX Arena, home of the Miami Heat.
Now, back home, where they were one of the best teams of the season, we will have to see how Deuce Tatum and company perform against Miami’s powerful defense this Saturday, May 21 .
What is certain is that Deuce will return to Miami for one more commitment and to be able to enjoy that pool that he dreamed of so much.
