After the intense negotiations during the last few days, it seems that Aaron Judge will be one of the players who would go to salary arbitration to decide what his salary will be for the 2022 MLB season.

According to information provided by several media outlets that cover the major league preseason, the star outfielder of the New York Yankees requested to earn $21M dollars for the upcoming campaign, but the club offered him $ 17M, which means that they probably can not reach a deal before Opening Day.

The truth is that Judge is not the only player who is uncertain in relation to his 2022 salary. In fact, a total of 31 players are on track to appear at a hearing after failing to reach an agreement with their respective teams.

For example, the reigning World Series champions, the Atlanta Braves, have a good chance of facing salary arbitration with five players: Austin Riley, Dansby Swanson, Adam Duvall, Max Fried and Luke Jackson.

In relation to Latin American players, Willson Contreras appears on the scene with his intention of wanting to earn with the Chicago Cubs a salary of $10.2M for this campaign.

After overcoming the physical problems that had limited him recently, Aaron Judge was the Yankees’ great offensive figure in the 2021 Major League baseball campaign, recording a solid offensive line of .287 and OBP of .373, with 39 home runs and 98 RBIs.

Judge’s return to star level is great news for the lineup of a Bronx team that this season will also feature fearsome hitters like Josh Donaldson, Anthony Rizzo, and Giancarlo Stanton.
