The Week 1 game of the Arizona Cardinals against the Kansas City Chiefs demonstrated that perhaps the team is not in a position to rub elbows with the NFL’s biggest players. They lost 44-21, making them the team that allowed the most points in the league’s opening week.
In total, Arizona allowed Kansas to score six touchdowns, five of them through the air, which speaks very poorly of their defense, which ended up allowing a total of 488 yards (360 yards through the air). The task in this upcoming game will be to demonstrate that this failure was simply due to the lack of rapport that is typical in Week 1.
On a more positive note, at least their quarterback Kyler Murray threw two touchdown passes, which is a good sign and they will be hoping for similar offensive production for this next game.
Betting on the Las Vegas Raiders
- Regular Season Record: 0-1
- Spread: -5.5
- Moneyline: -250
- Over/Under: 51.5
Las Vegas gave us one of the most evenly matched and entertaining encounters of Week 1 in their clash against Los Angeles Chargers, in a game in which it came within a hair’s breadth of a comeback. They went into halftime trailing 3-17 to end up losing by just 19-24.
Mistakes, mostly forced by the Chargers’ defense, were the Raiders’ main detriment, as their quarterback was picked off six times for a total of 39 yards, while Derek Carr threw three interceptions. In fact, his team’s last drive saw him lose the ball on third-and-3 and fourth-and-8.
As a result, the Raiders will undoubtedly be relieved to face a defense that is theoretically weaker, and it will be up to them to demonstrate some resiliency.
JefeBet Prediction
The Raiders’ offensive line showed zero safety for their quarterback in Week 1, although they might have a better game this time around against the Cardinals, who couldn’t bother Mahomes much in their game against the Chiefs.
The Cardinals’ defensive secondary looked terrible and unable to stop Kansas’ aerial game, and they will have a tough job again in containing Davante Adams, who ran for 141 yards and a touchdown in his previous appearance.
Considering what we saw in both franchises’ first matches, we believe that this match could have a high scoring.
Prediction: Over 51.5 (ARI 24 – LV 31).
