Buffalo Bills fans will be overjoyed to learn that Stefon Diggs extended his commitment to the team for four more years after signing a contract extension worth $104 million, with $70 million guaranteed.

Stefon Diggs, who came to Buffalo from the Minnesota Vikings during 2020 in a trade for first, fifth and sixth-round picks in the NFL draft pick in 2020 and a fourth-round pick in 2021, had two years remaining on his previous contract with the Vikings, so he will be tied to the franchise for at least six more years.

The 28-year-old wide receiver has quickly established himself as one of the Bills’ prominent figures since his arrival and his flawless understanding with quarterback Josh Allen has allowed the Bills to develop an aerial game to be feared. Since his arrival in 2020, the Bills have been crowned AFC East division champions, in this way breaking a 25-year drought without winning the divisional title, and have reached the postseason where they were eliminated by the Kansas City Chiefs both times.

Since his arrival, Stefon Diggs has established himself as one of the NFL’s top wide receivers, leading the league in 2020 in receptions (127 on 166 attempts) and yards rushing (1535), earning his first Pro-Bowl call-up and also being named a first-team All-Pro. While his numbers in 2021 were lower, recording just 103 receptions on 164 attempts and going for a total of 1125 yards per reception, the Bills’ #14 recorded his best season in terms of touchdowns with 10, which was good enough for a second consecutive Pro-Bowl call-up.

With this, the Buffalo Bills continue to solidify their core of key players, as this major contract extension comes after the franchise signed star quarterback Josh Allen for six years and $258 million, ensuring that the Josh Allen – Stefon Diggs connection will continue to scare opponents for a long time to come.

There has been work beyond Stefon Diggs.

This contract extension is just one of the many tasks that Bills management has been undertaking this offseason, since they continued to strengthen the team with the arrival of elite players of the level of the two-time SuperBowl champion. First, Von Miller, who is coming from the Rams and who will offer an additional weapon for the ground game, and second, O.J. Howard, another SuperBowl champion who lands in Buffalo from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and promises to bolster the team’s offensive line by adding a high-quality tight end.

Undoubtedly, there are some very good things happening near the northern border of the United States, and this 2022 season looks excellent for the Bills as they look to continue their dominance in the AFC East and take advantage of the New England Patriots’ slump as they look to reach their first Super Bowl since 1993.
