Betting on the Buffalo Bills (-8.5)
Regular season record: 4-2
The Bills prevented losing back-to-back games when they escaped with a 14-9 win on Sunday against the New York Giants. It was not the most impressive of performances by Buffalo, but it will take a win any way they could.
Josh Allen only had 169 passing yards on 19/30 completions with two touchdowns and an interception, but he completed the most important throws that he had to make, particularly in the second half. He got a shoulder X-ray after the game, so his status for Week 7 will have to be kept a close eye on. It could be Buffalo’s defense that takes care of most of the business in Week 7, though. The Patriots have been atrocious on offense this season, while the Bills are third in the league with just 14.8 points allowed per game.
Betting on the New England Patriots (+8.5)
Regular season record: 1-5
The Patriots had yet another letdown performance, as they lost to the Las Vegas Raiders on the road last Sunday, 21-17. It’s getting harder and harder to defend Mac Jones’ position as the starting quarterback of the team, especially following a poor performance in the Raiders game in which he went 24/33 for 200 passing yards with zero touchdowns and an interception, while also getting taken to the ground three times for a loss of 19 yards.
But there is still hope for New England’s offense in Week 7. For one, Rhamondre Stevenson and Ezekiel Elliot each scored a rushing touchdown in Week 6. There is life in New England’s offense and it can be found on the ground.
El Jefe’s Prediction on Buffalo Bills vs New England Patriots
The Bills play a much better performance in this game than they did against the Giants. Buffalo takes the Patriots to the woodshed and comes up with a big-margin victory.
Prediction:
The Bills win, 27-16.
