The 2022 Boxing season will present attractive bouts at the end of April and beginning of May, which we believe cannot miss as they promise a great show.

This sport alone triggers a great variety of emotions, and it has an even more special touch if boxers with a great track record appear in the ring.

There are stars in each of the categories and these are the five most important fights before the end of the first semester of the Boxing 2022 season.

1.- Canelo Álvarez vs Dmitry Bivol

As expected, Mexico’s Saúl Canelo Álvarez appears on this list. He will face Russian Dmitry Bivol on May 7 in Las Vegas.

The Mexican fighter will step into the ring in search of the WBA light heavyweight belt. This will be his return to the 175-pound weight, a weight at which he has not competed since 2019, when he defeated Sergey Kovalev.

El Canelo has not stepped into the ring since November 2021, when he became the undisputed super middleweight champion by defeating Caleb Plant, so this will be his first fight in the 2022 Boxing season.

2.- Shakur Stevenson vs Oscar Valdez

Another interesting fight in the 2022 Boxing season is between American Shakur Stevenson and Mexican Oscar Valdez.

This fight will be held in Las Vegas on April 30 and is the super featherweight unification.

Stevenson is one of the young jewels of the American union, and he already has the experience of being champion at two weights, in addition to the fact that at the age of 24 he won the silver medal in the Olympic Games. In addition, the American has a 19-0 record.

Valdez will not be an easy opponent as he holds the WBC belt and has a record of 30 undefeated fights. Everything signals that this will be a great duel.

3.- Jermell Charlo vs Brian Castaño

American Jarmell Charlo will face Argentinean Brian Castaño, in what will be a rematch of what happened in July of last year. On that occasion, a 114-point draw was declared in what was one of the best fights of 2021 in the super welterweight category.

Castaño is WBO super welterweight champion, while Charlo holds the WBA, WBC and IBF belts in the same category.

This showdown will take place at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles, California on May 14 and is one of the must-see fights of the 2022 Boxing season.

4.- Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte

Wembley Stadium in London, England, will have a party on April 23, but this time it will not have anything to do with soccer. The stadium will host the fight between Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte, two English boxers who are in the heavyweight category.

Fury, who and is the heavy favorite, will be looking to defend his WBC belt in front of 90,000 spectators.

5.- Katie Tylor vs Amanda Serrano

Female power will be present in the boxing ring on April 30 when Irish boxer Katie Tylor takes on Puerto Rican Amanda Serrano at Madison Square Garden.

In the fight all the lightweight belts will be at stake, which belong to the Irishwoman, who has an undefeated record of 20-0 with 6 KOs.
