There were two instances of Clásico Tapatío (Chivas vs. Atlas) in the same week, but that was not enough, since after having been one of the quarterfinal series of the Liga MX, the atmosphere remains tense between Atlas and Chivas players, at least that’s how they let it be seen on social networks.
The Clásico Tapatío is the oldest rivalry in Mexican football. Every time Atlas and Chivas face each other, the city of Guadalajara is divided between the colors red and black and red and white. A regional classic with a lot of history and that has just written another chapter these days, where the winner was the current Mexican soccer champion, Atlas, who after winning with a global score of 3-2 advanced to the semifinals, leaving his archrival behind.
We would all think that the game ended with a winner and a loser and that was it, but it was not like that, since the player of the ‘Rebaño Sagrado’ (sacred flock), Cristian Calderón, was present on social networks after the defeat of his team in the Clásico Tapatío. Regardless of the fact that on this occasion he is part of the defeated team, he dared to make fun of the Red and Blacks who in their entire history only got two titles (1951, and Apertura 2021), while Chivas has 12 titles, and is the second most winner in the history of the MX League.

After Calderón’s ridicule, the Atlas player, Edgar Zaldívar, appeared to show off the title they won recently, since the Chivas player has never been a champion in his career.
Jairo Torres, who after being champion with Atlas, emigrated to the MLS to play with the Chicago Fire, also commented on the publication of Chicote Calderón and reminded him of his red and black past.
Zaldívar did the same as Torres, and reminded him that he was once part of La Madriguera.
The fans of both teams also took advantage of these comments to continue playing the Clásico Tapatío on social networks.
Atlas is in the semifinals in search of the bi-championship, while Chivas is already on vacation, surely this fight will continue between players and fans from both teams, waiting for the red and black team to fail or succeed.
