Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich seems to have it in for the Cincinnati Reds, as he set a Major League Baseball all-time record on Wednesday afternoon. In the final game of a three-game series against the Reds, Yelich hit for the cycle for the third time against Cincinnati’s pitching.
“Weird things happen in baseball. Any time you can hit for a cycle, it’s pretty cool. I will try to enjoy it as much as possible. A lot of things kind of have to happen to hit the cycle. It is hard enough to get four hits in a major league game and to have the right kind, there’s an element of luck. It is still pretty cool.”

Yelich completed the feat with a triple in the ninth inning of the game that left his team a 14-11 loser to the Reds. The left fielder hit a double in the first episode, homered in the third and singled in the fifth.
After a forgettable 2021 season, the former National League MVP is trying to regain his form this season and while he is batting just .234, he has hit big for the Brewers’ cause thanks to his eight doubles, a triple and eight home runs that have helped him tow in 20 runs.

While Christian Yelich is not the only player in the 3-cycle club in Major League history, the Milwaukee outfielder became the first to do so against the same team on Wednesday. The first two arrived on August 29 and September 17, 2018.
The twice- winner of the National League batting title joins Trea Turner, Adrian Beltré, Babe Herman, Bob Meusel and John Reilly on the select list as he becomes the leader for the Brewers, who also saw Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, Mike Hegan, Chad Moeller and George Kottaras hit for the cycle.
