Betting on the Los Angeles Dodgers (TBA)
The Dodgers are back to their winning ways. After losing to the Houston Astros, 6-5, in a series finale at home last Sunday, the Dodgers took down the Rockies in the series opener Tuesday, 5-0. Clayton Kershaw was sensational for the Dodgers in that victory, and Michael Grove will look to be just as effective when he starts in Game 2.
Grove is expected to get the ball for Los Angeles, which is 21st in the big leagues so far with a team ERA of .238. The Dodgers are 2-0 in Grove’s last two appearances. Grove pitched for four innings and allowed three earned runs on two hits in four innings of a 13-4 home win over the Rockies back in April. Los Angeles hitters, meanwhile, must be salivating over the prospect of facing Freeland, who’s given up 10 earned runs in his last 9.1 innings of action.
Starting pitcher: Michael Grove (0-2, 7.59 ERA)
Betting on the Colorado Rockies (TBA)
Kyle Freeland has seemingly found his footing a bit again after getting clobbered by the Atlanta Braves in an 8-3 loss on the road on June 15. Against the Braves, Freeland allowed seven earned runs on nine hits in 4.1 innings. A start after that, Freeland limited the Los Angeles Angels down to just three earned runs and nine hits in 5.0 innings of a 7-4 victory at home last Friday.
It’s worth noting as well that he was fantastic the last time he faced the Dodgers, whom he held to only an earned run on seven hits with eight strikeouts in 5.2 innings, albeit in a 6-4 road loss back in October. RyanMcMahonis 12-for-43 with two home runs and four RBI in his last 12 games.
Starting pitcher: Kyle Freeland (4-8, 4.54 ERA)
El Jefe’s Prediction on Los Angeles Dodgers vs Colorado Rockies
The Dodgers find their groove again at the plate and tee off on Freeland, who’s been shaky of late. Taking the Dodgers to win.
