The Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship is an award given to the best team of each season through a score that is added up by each team after each Grand Prix according to the car’s performance in each race.
In fact, points are calculated by adding up the points that team drivers earn after each race. Historically, Ferrari is the team with the most Constructors’ Championship awards (16). Now, do you want to know how this year’s title positions are going? We tell you about it below.
How Is the Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship Going So Far This Season?
1. Red Bull Racing
To begin with, the Red Bull team leads with 431 points. It is also the team that has had the most races and podiums this season. Its drivers, Max Verstappen and Checo Pérez, have been crowned in the last few races, showing their grit and strength to compete.
Max Verstappen has won 8 out of the 13 races that have been run this year. On the other hand, Checo Pérez has been on the podium 6 times and won the Monaco GP.
2. Scuderia Ferrari
In second place is Scuderia Ferrari, who currently have 334 points and are Red Bull’s biggest rivals. Between Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, they have won 4 races and been on the podium 7 times. That is, between this team and the previous one, they have won almost 100% of the podiums so far this season.
3. Mercedes AMG
In third place are the current winners of the Constructors’ Championship: the Mercedes team. Although they had a difficult start to the season, they have been 2nd and 3rd on the podium 9 times this year. They have yet to win a Grand Prix, but they are getting dangerously close to snatching the championship from the other teams. They have 304 points.
4. Alpine Renault
In fourth position and best of the rest is the current team of Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon. They have not won any podium positions this season yet. However, they occupy positions 8 and 10 in the Drivers’ Championship and have 99 points as a team. In several races they have finished in the top 10, which allows them to score important points.
5. McLaren
After these four teams, there is the McLaren team of Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris. Norris, in particular, has had outstanding results this season. He was third on the podium at the Rome GP and at the Monaco GP. The team is also only 4 points behind the Alpine team (95 points).
Other Positions in the Constructors’ Championship
Lastly, there are the Alfa Romeo, Haas Ferrari, AlphaTauri, Aston Martin, and Williams Racing in positions 6 to 10, respectively. These teams have not had the best results so far, however, their drivers are excellent and the competition in Formula 1 is very tough.
