Tampa Bay Rays vs. Seattle Mariners

Which team will lead after the third inning?

To predict this type of play, it is best to consider who will be starters in the game: Josh Fleming (Rays) and Logan Gilbert (Mariners).

Of these two, Gilbert is the one to watch out for, who so far is the MLB leader in ERA with just 0.64 after 28 innings and five starts, with all of them seeing him pitch at least five episodes and allow one or no runs. This includes a game against Tampa at Tropicana Field, where he allowed just 2 hits and no runs in 5.2 innings in Seattle’s 8-4 victory.

For his part, Fleming has failed to pitch 4 full innings in any of his five starts to date, and three of them saw the pitcher allow three or more runs, including five in his last start against Minnesota.

It’s true that the Mariners are in the midst of a slump after losing their last four games, scoring an average of just 1.25 runs in the process; however, with Gilbert on the mound, they could start the fourth inning with some lead, however slight it may be.

Pick: Mariners

Chicago White Sox vs. Boston Red Sox

Who will win the game?

This matchup will feature two teams who need to win, with the Red Sox sitting last in their division, while the White Sox are falling short of what was expected of them.

Boston will be hurting after having lost their last series to the Angels, especially since the team allowed 8 or more runs in the last two games, and has failed to score more than 5 runs since April 27. Because of this, Boston will be grateful for Nathan Eovaldi, who could be their guarantee after the Texas native pitched 7 innings in each of his last two starts, with both seeing him allow 2 or fewer runs (against Orioles and Blue Jays).

The White Sox come in inspired with a streak of three consecutive wins after sweeping their interleague series against the Cubs, but the fact is that those three games had the team’s best pitchers as starters. Now, it’s Vince Velasquez’s turn. Although he had a good performance in his last outing (5.2 innings, 4 hits, 0 runs allowed against Angels), his only away start saw him get beaten by the Twins (3.1 innings, 8 hits, 5 runs allowed).

In addition to this, the Red Sox have not lost the first game of a three-game home series in this 2022 MLB season.

Pick: Red Sox

Dallas Mavericks vs Phoenix Suns

How many points will the Suns score?

The Phoenix Suns took Game 2 of the series 129-109, putting them up 2-0 in their quest to return to the conference finals for the second year in a row. Now they will have to play as visitors, so it is doubtful whether they will be able to demonstrate their dominance again.

Until now, the Suns have scored more than 120 points in their two games against the Mavericks . It’s worth noting, though, that Phoenix is averaging 110.6 points in its three away games this postseason and it should not be forgotten that two of them were played without Devin Booker.

Playing at home, Dallas’ defense has shined in these playoffs, limiting Utah to an average of 91.3 points per game in their previous series. However, the Suns’ offense is several notches above even it is not as effective and may struggle to break the 120-point barrier again.

Pick: 112-117
