The Washington Nationals reached an agreement with Juan Soto regarding his salary for the 2022 Major League Baseball season.

According to The Washington Post, the stellar Dominican outfielder has agreed to earn $17.1 million for a year, meaning the parties won’t have to attend a salary arbitration hearing.

This deal becomes a reality after the player was starring in rumors of a deal of 400 or 500 million dollars, something that his agent Scott Boras will continue to look for and that he could get as soon as next offseason.

Even though he is a 23-year-old player, he has already proven enough so as to get a deal that makes him one of the highest-paid players in MLB.

In another move by the capital franchise during Tuesday, March 22, they also avoided going to the salary arbitration with first baseman Josh Bell by agreeing to a contract of $10 million dollars.

In this way, the champions of the 2019 World Series claim to have a fearsome offensive heart for 2022 formed by Soto, Bell, and the newly signed Nelson Cruz.
