Betting on the New York Knicks

Knicks vs Cavaliers Predictions Picks Odds NBA April 18 2023
  • Regular Season Record: 47-35

For the first time in nearly a quarter of a century, the Knicks won a Game 1 of an NBA Playoffs series on the road when they took down Cleveland last Saturday, 101-97. Jalen Brunson proved once again why he deserved all the money the Knicks invested in him, as he led New York with 27 points.

Meanwhile, Josh Hart gifted the Knicks with a sterling all-around performance, as he recorded 17 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and a steal coming off the bench. The Knicks also did a pretty good job on the glass, particularly on the offensive glass. They were +6 (17-11) on the offensive rebounding battle. So far, it seems that New York’s bench is winning its matchup against the Cavs’ backups, with Hart, Obi Toppin, and even Isaiah Hartenstein providing quality minutes; New York’s bench scored 37 points in Game 1 to just 14 by Cleveland’s.

Betting on the Cleveland Cavaliers

  • Regular Season Record: 51-31

It is not the end of the world for the Cavs. They still have a great opportunity in front of them to score a win before hitting the road for New York, and based on the way Cleveland’s best player performed in the series opener, the Cavs will continue to spell trouble for the Knicks this coming Tuesday.

Donovan Mitchell erupted for 38 points on 14/30 shooting from the field with eight assists and five rebounds in 44 minutes on the court. Mitchell, however, could certainly use some help, as he had so much on his shoulders in Game 1. Caris LeVert, who averaged 14.1 points on 54.9 FG% in his final eight games in the regular season only had three points in the loss to the Knicks, while Evan Mobley, who averaged 16.2 points on 55.4 FG% in the regular season coughed up just eight points on 4/13 shooting. They can’t be much worse in Game 2.

JefeBet Prediction

The Cavs rise to the challenge, with Mitchell getting ample help from his teammates this time around. Cleveland wins and covers.

Prediction: The Cavs win, 107-100.
