LeBron James added a new achievement to his already brilliant career in professional basketball: he became the second-highest scoring player in NBA history.

During Saturday’s March 19 game against the Washington Wizards, the Los Angeles Lakers star got the points he needed to surpass the legendary Karl Malone in second place on the list that is led by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who has 38,387 points.

James scored 36,947 points in regular-round games, and, now, he needs just over 1,400 points to become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. Something that could definitely happen, considering that we are talking about a 37-year-old player who still shows a star level, in conjunction with the fact that he has the motivation to stay active at least until he is 40 years old so that he is able to play with his son.

Despite the good moment that LeBron is having personally, the Lakers are starring in a disappointing campaign in the NBA, which has them located in the tenth position of the Western Conference after registering only 3 wins in the last 10 games.

James is beginning to suffer from some physical problems that are linked directly to age, but it is important to note that when he is on the court he maintains the ability to get stellar performances with the Lakers.

In the current NBA campaign, the player from Ohio averages 29.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game. In addition, he records 52.2% on field goals and 35.7% on three-point shots.

Among the most notable achievements in LeBron’s NBA career are being an 18-time All-Star and his 4 championship rings.
